Trust for Access to Pure Water (TAP H2O) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to identifying those in need of clean water and providing innovative solutions and technologies to the growing masses of the water poor - whether victims of natural disasters, climate change or the impacts of human activity. We believe that the right to safe drinking water, hygiene and education are fundamental to human health and dignity.

LifeStraw® is a sustainable, long-term solution for accessing safe drinking water. It removes 99.9% of the bacteria and parasites responsible for some of the most destructive water-borne diseases by removing e.coli, salmonella, cholera, shigella, and campylobacter. This system of microbiological filtration contains no chemicals and requires no electrical power, batteries or replacement parts.

A body can live without food for almost 3 weeks, but cannot live without water for more than 3 days. Clean water is a luxury. It takes no less than 5 litres of water just to take a shower. More and more, when travelling, safe drinking water is not always a certainty. We have developed a programme through which you can protect yourself and help someone else too. For every LifeStraw® unit you buy under the Drop for Drop program, one LifeStraw® unit will be donated by TAP H2O to a person or family in need.

Last summer's devastation in Pakistan left millions in dire conditions. There remains a great and urgent need for safe drinking water and sanitation. Water-borne diseases are still running rampant and the most vulnerable (especially children) are bearing the brunt of it. This is a long-term problem that requires a practical, sustainable solution.

TAP H2O is raising funds to buy LifeStraw® water purification systems that can be used easily at any water source.

The quality of life of women and girls, who bear most of the burden of finding and retrieving water, is significantly reduced as girls are often deprived of access to education and are exposed to great physical risk. Children are vulnerable to intestinal and other diseases caused by contaminated water from sources that are often shared by animals as well. This means missing school days and this means that the quality of education for affected boys and girls is severely diminished.

TAP H2O has designed a programme for educating school children on the linkages between clean water, health, hygiene and quality of life. Children can raise funds to purchase LifeStraw® water purification systems for children in disaster stricken areas or where there is no access to safe drinking water.
